A Second Song

Revelation 5:11-12
“Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders. In a loud voice they were saying:
“Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!”

“We’re not worthy! We’re not worthy!” Wayne’s World (movie)

This silly phrase was spoken by the characters Wayne and Garth about being in the presence of popular icons. The only way we are worthy to be in the presence of God and give praise in heaven to the Holy One is by His resurrection, sanctification, and glorifying power that transforms us when we come to know Him as our personal Lord and Savior. Because of His power and grace, we are able to join our Christian family in worshiping the Lord. It all begins with Him and ends with Him.

Worthy is the Lamb, may our focus be on Him!

While using the HEAR method (see below) consider the following:
  • Have you ever experienced the sense of overwhelm in the difference between yourself and our Creator and Sovereign God?

Highlight – what words or phrases jump out at you
Explain – what does the passage mean?
Apply – how does the passage intersect with your life today?
Respond – how is God leading you to respond?
